In line with our ongoing commitment to Indigenous engagement and training, we’re proud to announce the following Georgiou employees and projects received accolades at the 2022 Nudge Training Awards.

Employer of the Year: Georgiou Group

Team of the Year: Mitchell Extension Joint Venture

Clerical Trainee of the Year: Lynette Garlett – Leach Welshpool Alliance

Special Commendation: Jacequeline Cross – Tonkin Gap Alliance

Presenting diverse prospects for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees, the Nudge Training Awards provide companies with the opportunity to acknowledge the inspiring work of their employees who are part of the Nudge network.

Nudge is an non-government organisation aiming to establish job and training openings for young people with personalised advice and tailored support for individuals and employers.

In line with this mission, our Tonkin Gap Alliance project in WA has created an Engineering Traineeship Program for two candidates who display a passion for civil construction operations and design. Equipping trainees with transferrable skills and experiences, the shared learnings include AutoCAD training and learning modules such as calculating stress in structures, reading and interpreting drawings and process planning.

A consistent participant when it comes to honouring our Indigenous engagement proposals, this year, Georgiou accessed new funding to engage the long-term partner, maintaining support for the trainees on our Leach Welshpool Alliance project in WA. This relationship provides additional communication, helping identify the trainee’s goals, strengths and aspirations.
