Georgiou is the proud "second time winner" of the WA Business News, Best Employer Award, in the Large Employer (201+ employees) Category for 2010.
In line with the Company's vision in aspiring to be "the best people to work with", Georgiou is honoured to have won the award for two consecutive years since the award's inception in 2009.
Over the year, Georgiou has seen significant growth in its number of permanent employees and in the diversity and complexity of projects we are delivering, and our eastern states offices are rising to meet the success we have established over our time in WA.
CEO John Georgiou comments, "We were obviously chuffed with having won the award last year but it's more about the process and the feedback we get from Insync".
Companies entering the Best Employer Awards participate by completing a short engagement and advocacy survey, uniquely designed by Insync Surveys for the WA business market with a strong emphasis on employee engagement. The data that is collected via these surveys help organisations identify how well they are engaging their staff and building successful businesses as a result. John further notes, ".. the analysis we get we find quite useful in itself; that's one of the big drivers. It's given us insight into some of the things that we can do better and our challenge going forward, as we're growing, is making sure we maintain that essence of who we are".
In seeking what makes Georgiou stand out as a top employer in Western Australia, it is fair to look at Georgiou's culture and the way we treat our employees, from senior management to team members on the ground. Georgiou’s “STEP” values of Safety, Teamwork, Excellence and Pride guides all of our interactions and decisions and each works in harmony to shape our strong, warm company culture. John confirms this notion in saying that, “.. it’s more than just how you pay people”, “.. from the point of view of culture, we try to be a nice place to work, a place where we consider workers’ needs. If they have an issue we try to assist and the challenge for us as we grow is to stay connected but still provide the essence of who we are as a business.”
We would like to congratulate our employees for creating the workplace that has allowed us be collectively recognised as “best employers”; and from the Company, we wish to make special thanks to WA Business News and the 2010 award sponsors.
